The Heart of Christ – I AM … the door

BE ENCOURAGED:

John 10:9 says “I am the door… If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture”.  In just this one verse the Lord Jesus states that He is the Exclusive door, He’s the door of Salvation, He’s the door of Blessing, He’s the door to Life.

The exclusive door:

John 14:6 supports this in saying I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.  To enter the Kingdom of God, there’s only one entrance to salvation and a relationship with God, and that is through the Lord Jesus Christ alone.

He’s the door of salvation:

“If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved.”

The most logical question to ask must be “Saved from what?”  God’s word (the Bible) tells us, because of Adam’s sin, mankind was separated from a holy God and stands condemned by Him. But 2 Corinthians 5:21 gives us the good news that God made a way for us. “He (God) made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him”. He bore our penalty on the cross and only through being made righteous in Christ can anyone be eternally saved and escape God’s wrath and judgement. We are saved from everlasting hell.

He is the Door of Blessing:

The Bible says that the Lord Jesus is also our door into every good thing that God ever gives us He has given us through and in Jesus Christ. Ephesians 1 assures us “He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the Heavenly Places in Christ” and in John 1:16 it tells us “of his fullness that we have all received”. He is our righteousness, our peace and our joy, in fact, He becomes our life. And this will gradually start manifesting itself the lives of all believers as fruit and good works.

Lastly, He’s the door to life:

“I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved and will go in… and out and find pasture…” When you place your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, you enter the fold but we still have to go back into the world where we live, work and play and now we’re not alone, but face lif through Christ.

Dear reader, He’s the only door to the Father in heaven; He’s the door of salvation; He’s the door of Blessing; He’s the door of Life; He’s the door to the love of God. Have you entered through the door? Do you know him?
