A word fitly spoken is like APPLES OF GOLD in a setting of silver – Proverbs 25v11
When Eastman Kodak developed the box camera and for the first time everybody had access to their own picture taking it was an amazing advance in technology. But there came a time when instead of sending one’s films to be developed one could have one’s films developed and printed at the local shop. The amazing box camera became redundant and so did film cameras because today we have digital photography and images which you can store on your computer and even photoshop and e-mail to whoever you wish and even post on Facebook and Instagram. Cell phones can now take pictures with a quality far greater than what people only 20 years ago could only dream of. So much of today’s technology which was amazing 10 or 20 years ago is now old hat including cd’s dvd’s and video’s. People today are no longer amazed about anything because it is now an expectation – so is there anything that has remained amazing over centuries? There are some in the natural world and Proverbs 30v18 lists 4 which are just as amazing today as when the writer recorded them 3000 years ago
“There are three things that are too amazing for me, four that I do not understand: the way of an eagle in the sky, the way of a snake on a rock, the way of a ship on the high seas and the way of a man with a young woman.”
For the next few weeks I intend to unpack these amazing things and see what we can learn to enrich, encourage and challenge us in our faith walk
God Bless
