Our speaker this Sunday, 22 October 2023, will be Dr Don Wilton, former Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in USA for nearly 3 decades.
He founded The Encouraging Word Broadcast Ministry which reached many through television, radio, and the internet. Don, married to Karyn, was born in South Africa, and soon after graduating from Rhodes University, they felt God’s call on their lives for ministry and moved to the United States to attend seminary. After graduating, he served at the seminary as the Associate Professor of Evangelistic Preaching for a number of years as well as serving as the pastor of a local church. In addition to writing many Christian articles and books, he also had the privilege of serving as Dr Billy Graham’s close friend, pastor and personal confidant for nearly 25 years and spoke at his funeral.
