The Plett Evangelical Fellowship started with just two families, meeting in a local home in 1994. Since those humble beginnings, the Lord has blessed the work abundantly, and added to the fellowship such that we are now numbering ±300 who consider PEF their spiritual home.
The responsibility of teaching God’s Word rests with and is shared by the elders and established Bible teachers. Visiting speakers are invited from time to time
PEF currently employs a full-time pastor, who carries a larger load of the preaching. He remains accountable to the Leadership and does not enjoy any preferential privileges. In other words, the full leadership [elders and/or deacons] will take collective responsibility for decisions taken. Appointing new elders or deacons is an internal process by the Leadership. There are no specific requirements with regard to number. At present we have 5 elders who are responsible for the spiritual needs of the fellowship and 9 deacons who are concerned with the practical needs of the church and congregants.
