A tribute to our author of “Apples of Gold”

The Golden Apple has Fallen

It is with deep sadness but also a sense of real gratitude to God that we face the passing away of Graeme Greenwood, the writer of “Apples of Gold” for so many years.   Graeme died on Monday 5 August 2024 after a short illness bravely borne.

Graeme had lived in Plett with his wife Glenda and their children for many years. He was heavily involved in the building of the new church for Plett Evangelical Fellowship, where he preached, led Bible studies and taught out of his deep knowledge and love of the message of the Gospel. As a Bible teacher his leadership was greatly appreciated.

Graeme was a truly great but truly humble man: his concern was always for others, starting with his family and friends, and reaching out to the whole community. His faithful writing of the many talks under the title “Apples of Gold”, was just one way in which he shared his love for his Lord.

As Graeme reached the end of his life, Paul’s words from 2 Timothy 4.7 apply to him in every way: I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”.

Our condolences go to his family and his many friends.
